Codersly SEO Pro Documentation

Codersly SEO Pro is the premium add-on for the Codersly SEO free plugin. It extends the free SEO core with advanced automation, deeper analysis, internal linking, professional schema and sitemap workflows, WooCommerce enhancements, advanced image SEO, Local SEO Pro, and Bring Your Own API (BYOK) AI tools.

BYOK AI architecture: AI requests go directly from the customer's WordPress site to the selected AI provider using the customer's own API key. Codersly does not sell, proxy, meter, or provide AI credits.

Requirement: Codersly SEO Pro requires the free Codersly SEO plugin. Install and activate both plugins before using Pro features.

Installation

Required Plugins

  • Codersly SEO — Free/base plugin
  • Codersly SEO Pro — Premium add-on

Install Codersly SEO Free

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Plugins → Add New.
  2. Search for Codersly SEO.
  3. Click Install Now and then Activate.

Install Codersly SEO Pro

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  2. Upload the Codersly SEO Pro ZIP file.
  3. Install and activate the plugin.
  4. Open Codersly SEO → License and activate your license key.
If the free plugin is not active, the Pro add-on cannot provide the complete feature interface.

License Activation

Codersly SEO Pro requires an active license to unlock the Pro suite.

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Codersly SEO → License.
  2. Enter your purchase/license key.
  3. Click Verify & Activate.
  4. After activation, reload the Codersly SEO admin area if needed.

License Validation

The plugin periodically validates the saved license. You can also use the manual validate/check option on the License page when troubleshooting.

An active Pro license unlocks the Pro suite. Plan labels do not change the current BYOK feature access.

Initial Setup

  1. Install and activate Codersly SEO Free.
  2. Install and activate Codersly SEO Pro.
  3. Activate the Pro license from Codersly SEO → License.
  4. Open Dashboard → Setup and run the setup wizard if this is a new installation.
  5. Configure Titles & Meta, Sitemap, and Schema.
  6. Review Settings → Robots, Crawlers, Breadcrumbs, and other site-wide options.
  7. If using AI, open AI Tools → Provider Settings, choose a provider, add your API key and model, then test the provider.
  8. Review optional Pro module settings from Dashboard → Modules.

Dashboard

The Dashboard provides a quick health summary and setup controls for Codersly SEO.

Tabs

  • Overview — Published post/page counts, redirects, 404 URLs, sitemap state, edition, and quick actions.
  • Modules — Enable or disable supported feature modules. Pro can add its own module controls here.
  • Setup — Open the guided setup wizard.

Titles & Meta

Use Titles & Meta to configure site-wide metadata defaults and indexing behavior.

Tabs

  • Global Meta — Homepage title/description, title separator, and global templates.
  • Post Types — Defaults for posts, pages, products, and supported public post types.
  • Taxonomies — Metadata defaults for categories, tags, and supported taxonomies.
  • Archives & Robots — Archive/indexing controls.
  • Social Meta — Site-wide social metadata defaults.
  • Noindex Automation (Pro) — Advanced global noindex rules and automation.
Per-post/page/product editor values take priority over global defaults where supported.

Sitemap

Codersly SEO Free provides the core XML sitemap index and content controls. Pro adds advanced sitemap workflows.

After configuration, submit the site sitemap URL to Google Search Console when appropriate.

Schema

Codersly SEO includes schema foundations in Free and expands them significantly in Pro.

Schema Builder (Pro)

Create reusable conditional schema items and advanced structured data. Supported workflows include Local Business, FAQ, HowTo, Event, Course, Service, Job Posting, Recipe, Video, Software Application, Dataset, Review, Book, Person, Product, and validated Custom JSON-LD.

Locations

Pro supports multi-location Local Business workflows through the advanced schema/location interface.

Structured data must match visible and accurate site information. Do not add misleading schema.

SEO Analysis

The SEO Analysis area combines site-level checks with deeper Pro analysis.

  • Content Analysis — Review content-level SEO signals.
  • Issues — Review detected issues that need attention.

AI Audit

With a configured BYOK provider, Pro can generate AI-assisted recommendations. Output depends on the selected provider, model, API availability, and the site/content supplied to the request.

Redirects

Codersly SEO includes a core redirect manager and Pro adds professional redirect automation.

Test advanced patterns carefully. A broad wildcard or regex rule can redirect more URLs than intended.

Pro editor insights also use internal-link metrics as part of deeper content analysis.

Image SEO

Free reports missing ALT text. Pro adds automation and bulk workflows.

Review generated ALT text for accuracy and accessibility. Decorative images may intentionally use an empty ALT attribute.

WooCommerce SEO appears when WooCommerce/products are available.

AI Tools

Codersly SEO Pro uses a Bring Your Own API (BYOK) architecture. AI requests use the customer's configured provider account directly, without Codersly-hosted AI credits or generation quotas.

Provider Setup

  1. Open Codersly SEO → AI Tools → Provider Settings.
  2. Select the default provider.
  3. Add your API key and model.
  4. Save the settings and run the provider test where available.
  5. Use Content AI, Bulk AI, Editor Tools, or AI Audit.
Privacy/cost model: AI requests are made using your provider account. Provider usage charges, limits, retention, and policies are controlled by that provider. Codersly does not provide or meter AI credits.

Tools

The Tools menu contains maintenance, migration, and diagnostic utilities.

Tabs

  • Import — Import compatible SEO metadata from supported SEO-plugin formats such as Rank Math, Yoast, and AIOSEO-compatible post meta.
  • Export / Backup — Export or restore Codersly SEO settings. License/API secrets are excluded from normal settings backup.
  • Database Tools — Shortcuts and safe maintenance workflows for SEO data such as redirects and 404 logs.
  • System Status — Review WordPress, PHP, WooCommerce, REST API, permalink, extension, and related environment information.

Settings

Settings controls global plugin behavior and technical SEO utilities.

Tabs

  • General — Admin and uninstall behavior.
  • Links — Link-related settings and supported link behavior.
  • Breadcrumbs — Breadcrumb configuration.
  • Robots — Virtual robots.txt configuration.
  • Crawlers — Crawler controls. Pro adds one-click allow/block policy for common AI crawlers.

Codersly SEO can also expose an optional llms.txt discovery file where supported by the configured settings.

Troubleshooting

Pro features are not showing

  • Confirm Codersly SEO Free is installed and active.
  • Confirm Codersly SEO Pro is installed and active.
  • Open Codersly SEO → License and confirm the license status is Active.
  • Validate the license manually if necessary.
  • Clear WordPress/admin cache and reload the page.

AI Tools are not working

  • Open AI Tools → Provider Settings.
  • Confirm the selected provider has a valid API key.
  • Confirm the configured model is valid for that provider/account.
  • Check provider balance, quota, rate limits, and account permissions.
  • Use the provider test where available.

WooCommerce SEO is missing

WooCommerce-specific menus and fields may remain hidden when WooCommerce/products are not available.

FAQ

Does Codersly SEO Pro work without the free plugin?

No. Codersly SEO Pro is an add-on and requires Codersly SEO Free.

Which AI providers are supported?

OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, Groq, DeepSeek, and OpenRouter.

Does Codersly charge for AI usage?

Codersly does not sell or meter AI credits. You use your own provider account and the provider handles any applicable API charges.

How many focus keywords are available?

Free supports one focus keyword. Pro expands the editor workflow to up to five focus keywords.

What happens when the Pro license is inactive?

Pro implementation is gated by the license, and the free plugin may show Pro discovery/placeholder interfaces instead of active Pro tools.
